Cabinets provide work surfaces that are permanently fixed in one location all their life. This limits flexibility in the kitchen. To solve that, we created this custom-made kitchen island that rolls anywhere (hidden wheels on each leg). It was part of an EverLife Home whole home remodel project in Newberg Oregon. The island fits into an extended lower cabinet slot until rotated out and re-positioned to another spot. A practical and creative use of space with added flexibility. It puts the prep area wherever you want it. It also serves as a great buffet table when serving your gourmet meals for friends and family. The island can also provide great support for aging in place–if you have mobility challenges, it moves the chopping block closer to the stove top when cooking. So many benefits in the kitchen. Plus, it’s beautifully crafted with salvaged wood and marble countertop and storage shelves underneath.
