Grab bars are useful beyond a shower or tub area. This EverLife Home Aging in Place remodel in Bethany, Oregon applied a creative approach for a client in a wheelchair. Karl wanted to be able to stand at the sink to groom himself, shave, wash hands and brush teeth. These bars mounted on each side of the sink allowed him to grab hold and stand up out of his wheelchair. These bars, combined with an open lower cabinet, allowed him to get his wheelchair up close, grab hold and stand. There are all kinds of applications for Aging in Place remodeling. A bathroom counter becomes a solid mounting area, especially for an Aging in Place modification.
